We made out on the couch like I haven't done since high school.
We somehow made it into my bedroom in a haze of hot, hormonal rushes without my noticing.
I can't remember anything but the smiles plastered on both of our sweaty faces after as we collapsed in each others arms. Then realizing that the whole event had taken place with the front door wide open, and laughing 'til I fell on the floor and he gazed at me from the bed, calling me beautiful.
He wouldn't let me get dressed to go to dinner. He kept pulling me into bed covering my face and hands with kisses, laughing in my ears.
When we finally did get dressed and go we held hands on our way from the car to the restaurant. He bought me a beer at the bar and we had animated talks all through dinner, not noticing anyone else.
When we walked back to his car the air was cold. As we were about to cross the street he got a little ahead of me, I dropped my lipgloss in the middle of the road. Far away, a car was headed our way. I looked at it momentarily and time seemed to slow. When my eyes turned towards him he was standing on the sidewalk. "Come on, baby, get out of the street" he said. I gave one last glance to the oncoming traffic and stepped quickly towards the sidewalk.
