Got PMS? Start praying...

It may be your only recourse...

Again, people, WHY DID WE ELECT BUSH???

Any true American should know that one of the foundations of this country is the separation between church and state. Or at least that's what we claim. By forcing everyone to abide by "Christian" ideals we're not forming a nation that anyone should be proud of. The way I see it, Bush is not our problem, we're our problem. He's just our fanatical leader. I'm scared. Scared of what we're all becoming.

Preach on, sistah.

Until we do something to change the way people think about this stuff, it ain't gonna change. Dammit.

heard an interesting point of view on Radio 2 the other day. There was a woman talking about the 'right' in America, how they fall back on 'morals' as their main election tool.

She posited that in American, all the 'moral' issues ALWAYS relate to sex. Abortion, Gay Marriage, Gay Adoption, AIDS, HIV (still an 'STD' in alot of cases), stem cell research (which can only be carried on on aborted foetesus) etc. She wants the 'moral' slant to be shifted, wants (y)our morals to be concerned with the relatively well off, not allowing poverty, illiteracy, starvation etc, to continue.

Intersting point.

Thats one of the reasons I moved back here because I didnt like the superficial way of life in the US. The religion, patriotism and various other aspects have created a false sense of security and morals and values rest weightily on those aspects rather than the real issues. I didnt want C going to school there - praying to a flag pole every morning of his school life, its not right. LMS has a good thought, I wonder if they really have reached a crucial point of make or break.

I always wondered how US governments reconciled the parts in the Constitution about freedom of religion and separation of church and state with having "In God we Trust" on the money and the pledge of allegiance ending "...one nation under God" (I am right about that, aren't I?).

But it appears to be getting clearer...

They forget about the stuff in the Constitution.
