Lets talk about shoes for a minute. I have an obscene obsession with shoes. I love them. I hate, hate, hate that I don't have a job right now so I can't buy them. I was at Urban Outfitters the other day and I spied with my little eyes these and these which I wanted desperately. However... Not having approximately 128 dollars plus whatever ridiculous sales tax on me at that moment I couldn't have them. This made me very sad. Those shoes are adorable!

Then something happened. I visited Goodwill. What did I find? Oh, I found shoes. Shoes just like those, well almost, I'm in the process of painting one pair... They're much cuter than the ones at Urban. Much cuter. And the sandals are white, not blue. But otherwise pretty similar. Would the lot of you like to know how much they cost me? 8 bucks! All together! My shoes won't be just like everyone else's either. Mine are original. So I share my secret with you ladies who like shoes... Before you bemoan the price of trendy shoes these days take a trip to a thrift store, you just might find something great! And there's the ever popular satisfaction of having things your friends want but will never find an exact replica of... Basically, feeling all superior for having "special" items (also found at Goodwill... tons of unique costume jewelery.)

Another time: How I'm decorating my apartment in the popular "shabby chic" look without the nasty department store prices... Hint: Garage sales + Paint + sandpaper = Shabby Chic Baby!

P.S. Somehow I feel that all of you know this already, because you are so creative and smart. If this is so... DAMN YOU FOR NOT TELLING ME!
