He came back from the airport. I was asleep in bed with one of the cats. Snuggled deep under the duvet I could hear him hang my keys on the hook, and recognized that he was tired by the shuffling way he was walking. Sleepily I lifted my head as he entered the room. He smiled sweetly at me. He walked towards the bed and lay down facing me. He pet the cat and she rolled on her back purring. We chatted idly for a bit. His hand found mine. Our fingers locked together, simply, we fit. We snuggled closer together when the cat ran off. Our arms around one another he asked me how I felt about him leaving for all of next summer to go to Germany. He was feeling me out, I could tell. I snuggled my face into his chest and said; "You can go wherever you want, as long as you don't leave this bed."
He laughed and we trailed off on some tangent about how they'd have to keep us in the cargo hold of the plane.
When he left he asked if we could spend some time alone tonight. Kissed my mouth when I said yes. Left money for me on the bedside table. Kissed my forehead. Stuck the cat back in my arms and promised to call later this afternoon, after some Calculus.
