There it is, an artist's rendition of our new home. We picked it out today, and barring anyone changing their mind or an atom bomb exploding on the site we'll be moving in August!!!! I am so very, very excited. There is actually a building next door to it that is exactly the same. They used to be hotels and were built in the late 20's. They've been renovated and have these gorgeous wide hallways. All the doors are solid wood... None of that hollow, fake wood stuff. The only down side is that there aren't balconies, but there is an enormous patio with deck chairs and tables, and a really nice grill. The window sills are big enough for kitties to sun on, truly I think they liked that better than the balcony... A window sill is year-round fun. I'm excited because we'll be moving back to a more exciting neighborhood. The central library is a few blocks north, along with the art museum, the capitol building and the history museum. A block or two west are a bunch of my favorite bars and restaurants, along with a handful of new things. I'll be close enough to school that I should be able to walk most days instead of driving. D will be really close to the highway he needs to get onto to get back to Golden for classes, and he assures me that he doesn't mind the drive... That he even likes it. He says it "clears my head." His dive shop is the same distance away, so that's a plus. Overall, we just decided we'd be happier staying in Denver. Hey, I'm not really objecting, Golden would have been fun, but this sounds perfect.
