Christmas was not as it has been in other years, but I guess we expected that.

We have a tradition that my sister gets to open all her gifts first, then the rest of us take turns. This year, my dad just started opening his gifts... He didn't wait for C to be done. It was a little weird. Mama and I just looked at each other. Luckily C didn't notice, and D had no idea about our tradition. Things are a little strange around my parents' house. Things just aren't the same anymore, and they never will be again. He starts radiation and chemo tomorrow, that's going to be a big change.

My grandmother (Daddy's mom) had open heart surgery shortly after he went into the hospital. She hasn't recovered well, and is having kidney failure. My grandfather has decided to take her off her ventilator soon. She's suffering a lot, and this isn't what she wanted. I think that's going to be hard for Daddy to deal with since he can't travel.

On a lighter note both our vacuums finally gave out. We were trying to use two deficient ones to try to make one good vacuum... That finally backfired on us. SO... We got to go buy a new vacuum today. It cost almost two hundred dollars, but it's fabulous. You all know about my cleaning fetish, and this vacuum rocks. I love it. A lot. I suppose it's the small things. It's also the small things that paid for it. We've been saving our change for almost a year now, we used the quarters to pay for laundry, and the rest we save in a glass jug. So with nickels, dimes and pennies we bought ourselves a new vaccum cleaner, which I think is pretty damn neat. I love to be thrifty.

In our quest to further clean ourselves and our surroundings we used our Christmas money to buy a rainfall showerhead and a new shower caddy. The shower is very serene now. We also bought SonicCare toothbrushes. My mouth feels dentist clean twice a day. I'm smiling more just to show off my teeth.

So that's it around here, for now.
